Trail Description: gentle uphill and downhill roads
Elevation: The highest point - 410 m the lowest point- 10 m

(run in September, 2008)

The main part of this ride is the cycleway named "Maple Yaba cycle line". The cycleway is the track of a 36 km long discontinued railroad line.

Travel North from JR Hita station and follow R720. R720 is quiet and suitable for cyclists. A small village named "Fusiki" is at the top. Enjoy downhill from Fusiki to Yamakuni.

Follow "Maple Yaba cycle line" at Yamakuni. The cycleway goes through forests and fields. The tunnels on the way have lighting.

Drop in "Suwa" Shrine famous for its huge Japanese cedar. You soon come to "Shimogo Syukuba", a resting place. The old station is converted into a resting place with a rest room. "Kumo hatimangu" Shrine is nearby.

"Ao no Domon" is an old tunnel. It was dug by hand by an old Buddhist priest in 19th century. A part of the original tunnel is preserved under a road. An old stone bridge is located near "Ao no Domon".

The nearer you come to JR Nakatsu Station, the less evident the cycleway becomes. The urbanization seems to have swallowed the old track. Nakatsu Station is the goal of 60 km ride from Hita and 36 km ride from Yamakuni.
